St Etienne Vallée Française is located in the heart of the Cevennes, bordering the Cevennes National Park in the extreme south of the department of Lozere at the confluence of the gardon-river St Germain de Calberte, St. Croix Vallée Franaise, which later becomes the Gardon of Mialet. The town is located in area of biosphere and Natura 2000.

The holiday village of St Etienne enjoys an incomparable asset: its natural pool formed at the foot of a waterfall of an excellent water quality for the enjoyment of young and old.
The territory has a rich cultural heritage and abundant & protected nature, it is also a paradise for hiking, with trails marked for the discovery of the landscape shaped by the hand of man (terraces, "bancels", "valats" ...) but also the well-famous GR 70 ("Stevenson"-track) that crosses the site of Le Martinet.
On the edge of the Cevennes National Park, close to many natural sites (Gorges du Tarn and Jonte with its vultures, the Navacelles circus, the Trabuc cave, the mountain of 'la Vieille Morte' and numerous prehistoric burial mounds and graves, Mount Mont Lozère or Aigoual, and many other sights that nature reserve ...), the site of Swift will be the focus for excursions and visits.
Situated at only a few miles, you can visit the major tourist attractions (the Bamboo gardens of Prafrance, steam train of the Cevennes, the Museum of the Desert, the Pont du Gard, Nîmes and its Gallo-Roman monuments ... ..
You can also enjoy the mountain with Mount Aigoual or my Lozère; also know that the Mediterranean Sea is only 1h30mn.
